The Moment We all Have Been Waiting For....

...The One of a Kind Show and Sale!!

Set up for OOKS was in full effect Tuesday and Wednesday. We all worked very hard the past couple months to make this show a success. The goal this year was to have the booth stand out and have our customers be in a shopper friendly environment. Our rockstar wall pretty much-- ROCKS! Brynn has accumulated tons of plaques, rewarding her hard work and dedication during her time spent in the music industry. We hung those as well as pictures of musicians she met along the way. You will find the entire rockstar collection in this area.

Finally the accent wall color was chosen and it turned out great! It really compliments all fall collection handbags and brings warmth to the booth. A surprise for the guys out there has been added to the collection-- key chains. Now men and women can shop Brynn Capella! All key chains are made with 100% Italian leather offered in a variety of colors.

And for everyone with a sweet tooth out there stop by for a tasty treat!

Here's a few photos of set up & video end result!

Rockstar Edtion: Behind the Scences Action!

Our major photoshoot of the season took place Friday, October 29th. This photoshoot comprised of the Rockstar line & the new Spring 2011 line. As you know this time of year in Chicago can get a little chilly out...this day was no exception. We all were freezing during the entire shoot. Unfortunately for our models they had to wear spring looks & try to look warm in the pics.

All & all they handle it like troopers!

Fall Fashion Week: Part II

Fall Fashion Week is such a fun time, but exhausting too! Now that I survived it...I wanted to share with you some "Behind the Scenes" moments.

Studio-808 is the brainchild of Erin Creaney, a PR executive with a near-athletic enthusiasm for emerging designers.

This year, she created the first ever Accessory Style Lounge to showcase Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 accessory lines. The shopping suite was filled with fashion, fun and was the perfect place to pick up pieces to complement any wardrobe.

From 3pm - 6pm, the music was pumping, people were shopping, drinking Vitamin Water (wink wink) and having fun.

Susan Eichstaedt, of Susan Elizabeth Designs, was there with her mixed metal artistry. From rings to cuffs, earrings to necklaces, everything is handcrafted by her.

I actually have several of her pieces myself and get tons of compliments wherever I go!

Check her out online at: susanelizabethdesigns.com

Squasht by Les is another great line out of Chicago. Besides her wonderful vintage petal headbands and signature reversible hats, she has a full clothing line as well. Lesley also recently opened up her own store on the edge of Ukranian Village. Her flagship store is located at 2556 W. Chicago Ave. in Chicago.

Another great thing about events like these is that most Fall Fashion Week events are centered around clothing designers and runway shows, which are a ton of fun. But this was "the accessory designers" chance to shine!

Here's our friends Agnes of Love, LuLu Mae and Jules! Both of them with their unique, handcrafted lines and the inspiration behind them.

If you are looking for "...a piece of vintage glamour in (your) modern life", Love Lulu Mae is perfect with her beautiful collection handcrafted from antique jewels, vintage fabrics and exotic feathers.

Jules is inspired by nature. This artisan jewelry line has deep color variations of gemstones, rich textures of raw minerals and blemishes on hand-hammered metals.

We are excited to share our "Behind the Scenes" look into Fashion Focus Chicago! Stop by on Friday for a look at the Finale Runway Show presented by Style Chicago and a look at the Fashion Chicago retail event...

ps: I tried to upload video, but it's not working! I will keep trying so stay tuned...maybe Natahsa will have to help me with that on Thursday!

Fashion Focus Chicago is Here!

The week so far has been loaded with great charity events, runway shows, and shopping experiences. So far it has been tons of fun to take part of the festivities Chicago's fashion week has to offer. Another great event took place last night at Millennium Park. I was fortunate enough to see the set-up for the 3rd annual Mario Tricoci’s, Make a Model and Wave of Fashion sponsored by Smartwater & Chicago Magazine. Mario Tricoci is known for his innovative hair trends and luxury salon and spa services. This event was the last of a series of challenges for the five remaining constants hoping to springboard their modeling careers. The final five model hopefuls were required to walk the runway with professional models in fashions from Chicago designers. For the grand finale Mario introduced the winner of the challenge.

Below are a few photos of the venue & set-up...

More Fashion Focus Chicago to come in this week's blog!
Up next... Accessories event, Runway show and so much more!

Update!

It has been very busy for us here at Brynn Capella Inc. These past couple weeks consisted of adding new handbags to the inventory, photo shoot preparations, charity events and trunk shows and we still have a lot more to come! This week Brynn and two interns attended the One of a Kind Show and Sale informational session. While there we met cool artists and learned the ends & outs of the show. This year's show begins December 2nd and runs through the 5th. More details will be in the next blog.

This week on the blog we want to try something new, posting a video!
The video is a short clip of the interns walking around the One of a Kind venue. Posting a video is kind of a big deal for us...hopefully it works out ;)

Inventory Day...YAY!

September 17th 2010 marked the day all four interns were under the same roof. Thank goodness for that! We needed all hands on deck that lovely Friday. We spent the day meeting and getting to know each other, but most importantly doing INVENTORY. What was supposed to be a 2-hour day, quickly turned to an all day mega event.

Bags were everywhere! Believe it or not we actually had a system going. We decided to organize everything by bag style name not the color/design. We all agreed by doing this we would get through everything relatively quickly… boy were we wrong. As soon as we finished one style and moved onto the next, we would find 2 or 3 more 30 minutes later. Also, we are just learning the names for the bags, so that took up a lot of our time. Rest assured we are all now familiar with the handbags.

After the last bin was finish we all sat down to relax. And then realized we have to go through the samples UGH! So close, but yet so far away we thought. All and all it was fun times with great people!

A girl can’t help, but to fall in love with any of these handbags after spending the day with them! Come see them yourself this weekend!

We will be at The Indie Designer Market:
1300 Block of W. Randolph St. Chicago, IL.
Saturday 10 am to 5pm & Sunday 10 am to 4pm.

Hope to see you all there!

What's In Your Lauren?

Up close and personal with Ali and Adrienne as they take you deep inside their new Fall Lauren Bag from Brynn Capella's 2010 Fall Cityscape Collection.

Ali - Brownstone Brick

I love my new Fall Lauren. There are so many different ways to wear it and it’s easy to change the straps on the go. But my favorite part is all the different compartments. My bag is never organized but the front zippers and inside pockets definitely help!

-Every girl on the go needs a little refreshment…Orbitz Gum sweet mint flavor is my favorite.

-Sunglasses are my favorite accessories. They never go out of style!

-I always carry mascara with me in my handbag or clutch. It’s the perfect way to touch up your look through out the day.

-I keep my camera with me at all times. Living in Chicago I wanted to catch every moment of my summer with new friends.

-You’re never too old for Lip Smackers. I use the Strawberry flavored chapstick, it smells great plus it gives your lips a slight pinkish red tint.

-Working for Brynn Capella this summer I had to keep organized. I brought my notebook with me everyday so I could keep track of my schedule and other things happening in the office.

-And of course, I never go anywhere without my Blackberry. It’s my way of keeping in touch with friends back at school as well as keeping up with Brynn and the other interns.

Adrienne - Streetsign

-MacBook Pro - I always take my laptop with me when I travel.

-Strawberry Lip Balm from Urban Outfitters. It smells so good and tastes yummy too!

-My camera is always with me - day or night. I love to document the fun times with my family and friends!

-Keys for my car and apartment.

-I love my new iPhone 4! If it is not in my hand playing Words with Friends, then it will be in the side pocket of my bag, making it very easy to find!

-There is always gum in my bag. My favorite is Trident Tropical Twist, but if I am in the mood for something more grown up I go for spearmint.

-I always have a pair of sunglasses in my bag. It is the ultimate "must have accessory!"

-Monogrammed Metal wallet for my credit cards and cash...the bottom of my bag is filled with lots of change.

-Last, but not least Silly Bandz (my new guilty pleasure).

Check out the full images of the bags displayed above! Copy and paste the link below to take you to the Brynn Capella website, and take a look at the other fall colors! I know you will want to get a bag for yourself!

Just Another Day at the Office

Yesterday, Ali (the Business Intern) and I were sent on a mission to display all of the different ways to wear our Lauren Crossbody Fold Over Bag. We were to take pictures and create a marketing spread to send to boutiques. After 130 pictures we used 8 of them! We ran around the neighborhood all afternoon squealing like little girls! It was one of the best days at work this summer!
